Our Story

Owner and founder Cody Meeske grew up on a cattle ranch in the eastern part of Washington State. From a family that had strong roots in making a living off the land, Cody was raised to love and respect nature and the outdoors. As a child, he and his family would spend summers going on camping and packing trips or enjoying time at the family cabin on Rimrock Lake fishing, swimming and exploring the woods. By the time Cody was in his late teens, come fall his father Mitch, a passionate elk hunter and “wilderness only” kind of guy, would take Cody on pack-in hunting trips. It was during this time that Cody developed a special kind of connection and soft spot for the wilderness.

It was some years later that he would find himself working for a wilderness guide in the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness of south-eastern Washington as the exclusive packer for the outfit. Cody was hired to pack hunters and their gear safely in and out of remote locations of the wilderness as well as providing transportation of any harvested game. Using his own team of mules, Cody would go on to do this for several years. As a true mountain man, this provided Cody with a new way to enjoy the wilderness that he loved. Cody quickly became well-known in the area for his great attitude and work ethic. When given the opportunity by the United States Forrest Service to become a licensed outfitter and guide and given his own section of the wilderness to look after, he jumped at the opportunity to do so.

Cody and his wife Dannan formed White Pass Outfitters LLC in 2020 with the idea of working as a family with their children to provide a unique and memorable wilderness experience to the general public. Cody and Dannan knew they had more to offer than just packing and guiding hunters during the hunting season. They wanted to do more. W.P.O. is a professional packing and guide service that offers a wide range of wilderness experiences. Whether you’re looking for guided hunts, remote fishing locations, horseback rides for all age groups or just a comfortable camping trip, White Pass Outfitters will get you there and back. We’ve got your pack!
